Fremont County Search and Rescue provides its services throughout the county. Fremont County is a recreationist's dream, offering both summer and winter activities. Recreational opportunities are endless: snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, kite-boarding, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, motorbiking, ATVing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, floating/tubing, swimming, and fishing.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Fremont County covers a total area of 1,896 square miles, of which 1,867 square miles is land and 29 square miles (1.52%) is water (including lakes, reservoirs, ponds, rivers, canals, streams, creeks, ditches, and swamps). About 2.7 square miles of the county is made up of rural towns: St. Anthony (1.3 square miles), Ashton (0.6 square miles), Teton (0.5 square miles), and Parker (0.3 square miles). The rest consists of desert, mountains, forests, sand dunes, undeveloped land, and farmland.
